Channeling “Golden Earring”

The fuss over Hillary Clinton’s “3 AM phone call” ad has taken yet another humorous turn. This time, it’s an Obama staffer who says that neither Democratic candidate is ready to take such a call. This allows John McCain to take a healthy swing at a big, fat pitch:
“Senator Obama’s foreign policy adviser said today that neither Senator Clinton nor Senator Obama is ready to answer a 3:00 a.m. phone call during an international crisis,” said McCain campaign spox [sic] Jill Hazelbaker. “We agree wholeheartedly that neither Senator Clinton nor Senator Obama have the experience or judgment necessary to lead the United States in the struggle against violent Islamic extremists who seek our destruction, or to address the complex global environment that our next president will face. Only Senator McCain is ready to serve as commander in chief from day one.”
Yucks all around. But I am left to wonder…are Democrats really afraid of late night phone calls, or are they just channeling Golden Earring?
Better than Jethro Tull, I suppose. But only just.

Hillary is used to the 3am calls… but normally they are from woman looking for her husband.
Well, goodness gracious, my nephew Pushtab is ALWAYS used to taking those 3AM phone calls.
They are always from America, and asking how to “reboot” (or reshoe or something like that) their Dell computer.
Pushtab thinks Americans are truly stupid- they have trouble plugging their Deal and Compacked laptops in.
But he is willing to do their jobs! And that nice Mr. Tata (pushtab’s boss) has just bought Jaguar from Ford.
And will soon be buying GM or Ford
My Goodness. All Americans have left now is NASA and getting drunk on Pinoqachole while they bowl.
