William F. Buckley has been called home

It is a very sad day for the conservative movement. Our intellectual giant and standard-bearer for so many years, William F. Buckley, has passed away at 82. I was blessed to meet him a few years ago and will never forget his charm, candor and conservatism. He will be missed, but his legacy will long live on.

He was conservative when it was not popular, when it was, and when it was not, and when it was…
Class act.
He was a great man. His intellect and his spirit will be missed.
Buckley = a Catholic who supported Ulster unionists against Irish nationalists.
Let him burn in the next life.
See, the difference between someone like Henry and me is that he says something like that hiding behind his keyboard. If he was on radio or on person, he wouldn’t.
Now we all know that when I have something unpleasent to say, I ahve done so in writing, on the air and some have had the pleasure of listening to me in person.
Point is, way to keep it classy, Henry. Seems that their has been Irish healing over there, but not in you. Ugh
SW,
I’ll say it in person; ask Brian.
and Henry would delete it on his blog if someone said the same thing about him.
Not only does Henry - who doesn’t even live in Northern Ireland - offer nothing to this discussion, but he brings the intellectual tenor down to 0 with his irresponsible, offesive comments that are of the sort that lead to the horrors we once saw in Northern Ireland.
Then he has the audacity and the gall to add a smiley face to his comment to SW. You sir need to take a step back and analyze why you are so angry about a conflict that you know nothing about personally. Reading about a conflict is not the same as living in it. People like you are the reason peace is so difficult to achieve in this world. If you are a Christian, you truly need to spend some time considering what it means to practice your faith.
Even a good Irish Protty like me would have a pint with a Catholic…
