Bolling tie-breaking vote eliminates state funding for Planned Parenthood
By JR Hoeft | Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 | Catch-AllLt. Gov. Bill Bolling cast a tie-breaking vote today in the Senate, the first of this session, on an amendment that would have sent state funding to Planned Parenthood.
“I was pleased today to cast my first tie breaking vote of the 2008 legislative session in support of an amendment to prevent taxpayer funds from being directed to Planned Parenthood,” Bolling said in a statement. “At a time when Governor Kaine has chosen to eliminate $250,000 in state funding for programs that teach abstinence education to young people across Virginia, we should not be using taxpayer dollars to fund an organization that uses those funds to provide abortions and abortion related services.”

I am glad he was there to vote, but I wish it had never come to that! I wish it was never close.
HELL YEAH!
Spot on Squeaky.
How can so many not favor the right to life? I guess the same ones who want our rights to liberty and happiness too.
Great work to Bolling, Cuccinelli and the Senate GOP for pulling this off.
A tip of the cap should also got to Bolling, Norment and Newman for keeping the caucus together and Colgan for standing up to the heat in the Dem caucus.
There is nothing rarer than a pro-life Dem and it took some real backbone from Colgan to resist the rigid anti-life ideology of the Dem caucus.
